Day 3.
Folsom to Davis. Yesterday was surprisingly hard for a flat easy ride. My first mistake was thinking it would be flat and easy. That followed by the second and third mistake of not eating a big breakfast and not going around and tightening any loose screws on my bike and rack after the first 100 miles made for an interesting, not so easy day.
The ride was really nice though. Bike paths and low traffic streets for 50 miles was a real treat. Today lots of climbing and miles to napa valley.

3/28/15. Day 2.
Yesterday we rode from echo summit just on the brink of the Tahoe basin to Folsom. It was a cold start so we stopped at the strawberry lodge for delicious treats and good company while we waited for the weather to warm and the traffic to pick up. I was worried about the descent down highway 50. I should not have been, it was awesome! There were some sketchy parts and one pretty scary no shoulder climb. Overall not worth all my worries.
We rolled into Folsom tired and hungry with 75 miles, 2800 feet of climbing, and almost 10,000 feet of descending(!) under our belts. Clays says it was the best road bike descent of his life, which I'm not sure is saying much.

Day 1. 3/27/15
We finally made it out of the Tahoe vortex. It's a hard place to leave. We were packed up and ready to roll around 3 but clays bike was riding horribly shaky. Turns out with the trailer he had too much weight on the back wheel. After getting him set up with a new front rack to help redistribute his load we were ready to roll. With about 2.5 hours of light left we made it to the top of echo pass and camped for the night with a lake view. I'm pretty tired after packing and moving but super stoked to be living off my bike.
