October 1- Fort Ebey SP to Dosewallips SP

10/1
48 miles
I haven't ridden on a ferry since I was a kid.  I remember them being awesome and I was not disappointed. We woke up early, had coffee in bed and rode about 12 miles to the ferry in dense fog. There were no views, we hurdled through the fog with speed. Just as the 30 minute ride came to an end, the fog broke and we had views of the cute town of Port Townsend. We headed toward the bike shop, Broken Spoke, and picked the owners brain about bike routes. He advised us to take an inland route.  We don't have enough time to do the coastal route in an enjoyable way and it's not really on the coast for that long anyway. With our route now in place, we headed south. The riding was nice, sandwiched between the Olympic mountains on the west and bay on the right.
