23 miles (1416 to 1439)

Today was full of distractions. We got up and threw a few darts before we left camp. 7 miles in we hiked through burney falls state park. Burney falls is very pretty with waterfalls pouring out of the middle of rock cliffs rather just a stream flowing over them. Burney falls has a general store and picnic tables! We bought a ton of food and sat for far too long. When we ventured back out to the trail it was really hot. We hiked 5 miles to rock creek where we layed down in the shallow water and "did laundry". It was amazingly refreshing. The rest of the afternoon was hot dusty climbing followed by finding a beautiful campsite with a view of mount Shasta.
